One client called on my mobile on a Sunday late evening for urgent help. They made parts with 3D prints but found they could not meet their actual functional requirements after complete assembly. They have been delayed for over 1 month.
Face to face meeting was immediately arranged on Monday morning for discussion of requirement. The product is for cosmetic box pop up support. Root cause of 3D print failure is these 3D prints parts are not of plastic material acetal(POM) property and engineering drawings are not under correct dimensional control with specified tolerance.
We immediately made decision with Mold Flow Analysis of balance tool design of these 5 different size parts, with mechanical slide, mirror part finish, fit 90T injection machine. Steel ordering on Monday late evening.
Steels and mold base arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Steel cutting, mirror machining and polishing and with complete actual plastic injection mold assembly on Friday. 650 shots of samples submitted with right dimensions to print tolerance and high quality finish of acetal(POM) parts arrived in client's door on Saturday morning for assembly.
